I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support in 2018. What a BLESSED year!!
As you know, our mission is to help kids, the elderly, our homeless and less fortunate, Veterans and our four legged friends. We want to give back to our community and help to build strong morals and values in other children. This year, I think we did just that!
We started our year providing warm winter coats and clothing
to families and their children struggling to meet basic needs.
It makes our hearts full knowing we were able to help reduce the
burden of poverty and bring the gift of warmth to those who
otherwise may not have it. The coats and clothing were donated
to the Mission Northeast, a non-profit organization that provides
help to residents in the surrounding communities of Humble,
New Caney and Porter.
In February we helped the Angels of Destiny with their annual Valentine’s Day Drive to cancer patients. Angels of Destiny is a non-profit organization focused on giving the gift of an angel to people who are living with life threatening illnesses.
We were honored to join Jeeps at the Beach - TX, a local group of Jeep enthusiasts that like to give back to their community and have fun while they are doing it! We joined them at their event, Boots for Troops, and donated a basket full of goodies for
5 soldiers that included items such as hygiene products, baby wipes, beef jerky, trail mix, etc. The donations were then provided to the non-profit, Boots for Troops. They send unique one of a kind custom care packages designed to raise morale of the troops all over the world!
A campaign very close to our hearts is Food for the Forgotten, which we participate in every month in order to bring food to our homeless friends in downtown Houston. This year we were honored to have Panera Bread sponsor our events. In fact, we received so much help, we were also able to help The Mission in New Caney, Texas, which provides help to needy families in our area.
So many goals were met including providing a donation of food, toys, carriers, cages, beds, etc. to Dora's Dawgs and Katz, an animal shelter in the Humble area; sweets to teachers for Teacher Appreciation Day; blessings bags to the children at Texas Children’s Hospital, and school supplies to numerous families.
Of course, we ended the year with our campaign to help feed families at Thanksgiving, Operation: Bless a Family. But, we always want to end the year with a BANG, so we didn’t stop there! We also honored our Veterans at the annual Wreaths for Veterans at Houston National Cemetery and provided a number of families with gifts for our annual Operation: Stuff a Stocking campaign. Our final act for 2018 was to provide warm clothing and blankets to our displaced friends in downtown Houston, in our campaign, Warmth for the Weary.
We couldn’t have done all this without your help, though. We have even more in store next year and we know we can count on you to join in our efforts. We are looking forward to an amazing 2019!
